The rocker - who was arrested in the early hours of Thursday (11.06.09) after police saw him driving erratically following a solo concert in Gloucester - appeared at Stroud Magistrates Court, Gloucestershire, yesterday (12.06.09) to answer charges of dangerous driving, drink driving, possessing Class A drugs, and driving without a licence or insurance.
Pete pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving and did not enter a plea to a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol but admitted the other offences.
The troubled Babyshambles star - who has battled addictions to heroin and crack cocaine - is "disappointed" with his behaviour and concerned at the impact it will have on his fan base.
His lawyer Peter Ratcliffe told the court: "My client would firstly like to express his disappointment in himself and disappointed that he has let his fans down.
"He has been out of trouble for over a year and a break of 14 months represents a real achievement for someone with a drug dependency.
"This offence represents an aberration. There has been a very real and very significant change in his behaviour."
He was released on £50,000 bail but must return to Cheltenham Magistrates Court on 11 August, when officials are expected to set a trial date for the dangerous driving charges.
Under the terms of his bail, he must stick to a 12-hour curfew when not performing and is banned from taking illegal drugs. He could face a jail term for the offences.
