There are many unanswered questions regard Carradine's cause of death, initially reported as a suicide.
Mr Carradine was found dead inside a hotel room closet with cording wrapped around his neck last Thursday.
The Carradine family has said it is "profoundly disturbed" after images of the actor's body were printed in a Thai newspaper.
The photos, according to the Thai police, were most likely forensic photos, reportedly show the actor's body in the Thai hotel room where he died.
The Associated Press reports that Carradine's half-brother, actor Keith Carradine, threatened legal action against any "invasions of privacy". He has also called on the FBI to intervene in the investigation.
David Carradine's family believe there are suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. His family and friends say the actor had too much to live for, was happy and excited at his slate of films to be working on.
In Hollywood, on the Walk of Fame, his star is adorned with floral and candle tributes from his fans who are still in shock at his passing.
Attorney Mark Geragos told the AP that an independent pathologist would examine the body when it came back to the States.
Results of the autopsy in Thailand are not expected for at least three weeks, according to the AP.
Geragos reportedly said, "All we really know is not much more than what the public knows, and that's disturbing".
Thai police have stated they think Carradine took his own life.
Col Somprasong Yenthuam, leading the investigation, said interviews with hotel staff and surveillance footage suggested no-one else was with Carradine when he died.
