Megan Fox became an actress because she wanted to be a sex symbol.
The 23-year-old star - who was voted the Sexiest Woman in the World by FHM magazine in 2008 - is delighted men find her attractive, adding good looks are essential in Hollywood.
She said: "I think it's wonderful I'm viewed as a sex symbol. I didn't decide I'm going be an actress because I want be respected for how I play chess. Part of Hollywood is being perceived as attractive."
The 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' star - who plays Mikaela Banes, the girlfriend of Shia LaBeouf's character Sam Witwicky in the second instalment of the warring robot saga - also revealed she loved shooting a kissing scene with Shia for the film.
She added to US TV show 'Entertainment Tonight': "I've said it before, he's a really good kisser. It's always awkward, you're on set with a bunch of grown men, sweaty, sitting outside, carrying camera equipment and wanting to take their break, and you're having to kiss.
"We did it in about five takes, we were making out all day, clearly Shia enjoyed it!"
