Peter Andre is buying a £1.8 million "dream home".

The 'Mysterious Girl' singer - who split from wife Katie Price two weeks ago - is splashing out on the luxury property close to his former marital home to boost his chances of gaining access rights to the three children he raises with Katie.

He has reportedly told his estranged wife: "This is where I want the kids to be."

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Pete has found his dream home for him and the children. He spent a week house-hunting, but knew within seconds of seeing this place it was ideal."

Peter, 36, is determined to hurry the move to the new house in Hove, West Sussex, in Southern England to ensure he can celebrate his and Katie's son, Junior's fourth birthday on June 13. The couple also have a daughter together, Princess Tiiaami, who will be two on June 29.

The source added: "Pete was determined to rush through the lease so he can move in, in time for Junior's birthday. He is adamant Junior should be with his dad and is demanding Kate let him throw a special party."

Pete was left fuming earlier this week after ex-glamour model Katie banned him from attending his stepson Harvey's seventh birthday party at UK theme park Chessington World of Adventures.

Peter is initially renting the property, but has a right to buy it after six months and is hoping to own the house by the end of the year. He is also making the house child proof and ensuring Harvey - who is disabled - is catered for.

The source added: "The builders are putting gates around the pool and tub and ensuring Harvey is well looked after in terms of wheelchair access."

Peter was left homeless when he returned to the UK from his family home in Cyprus, after Katie changed the locks on the house they previously shared.

They have both met with lawyers and are expected to start divorce proceedings soon.

Meanwhile, Peter made his first public appearance since the split last night (28.05.09), appearing onstage at sexy dance show 'Here Come The Boys!' at London's O2 arena.

Although he didn't dance, he took to the stage and blew the crowd a kiss.

Katie is due to model her range of equestrian outfits at the Clothes Show London today (29.05.09).
