Rihanna will be called to testify against on/off boyfriend Chris Brown.
The 'Umbrella' singer - who was allegedly attacked by Chris in February - is to appear in court on June 22 when it will be decided whether there is adequate evidence to take the case to trial.
Following a hearing in Los Angeles yesterday (28.05.09), her lawyer Donald Etra confirmed: "The District Attorney has advised me that she will be subpoenaed to testify. I will accept on her behalf. She will appear in court, and if asked to testify, she will do so.
"Rihanna is doing fine. She's monitoring closely the proceedings of this case. She is continuing with her career and moving on with her life and doing great."
At the June 22 hearing, Rihanna will be cross-examined by Chris' lawyer Mark Geragos.
Chris - who has pleaded not guilty to felony assault and making criminal threats - is expected to attend the court date to listen to her evidence.
Geragos said: "He has to be here anytime a witness is called."
At yesterday's hearing, Geragos was refused access to police records by a judge.
The lawyer had hoped to discover who had leaked photographs showing Rihanna's injuries following the assault to a US website.
Los Angeles Superior Court judge Patricia Schnegg said that although the pictures should not have been made public, they had not damaged Chris' right to a fair trial.
She said: "It matters to me not if your client is high-profile or not. I don't believe you're entitled to demand access to police records."
If convicted, Chris - who is accused of biting, hitting and choking Rihanna until she was unconscious in his rented silver Lamborghini on February 8 - faces over four years in state jail. Geragos refused to comment on whether he is expecting to prevent his client being imprisoned.
Earlier this week, a video was posted on website YouTube in which Chris Brown thanked fans for their support.
He said: "Everybody that's haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love you all. I ain't a monster."

Not guilty is not 'owning up'
Brown is a low life thug who needs to go to jail for a couple years. It'll help build his cred.
Rihanna doesn't respect herself. I have several friends with adolescent daughters, all of whom adamantly dislike her because she won't stand up to Brown.
It's sad to me as I used to really enjoy Rihanna's music, but now I just think what a spineless fool she is.

I am with you Chris Brown, you got caught doing something bad and owned up to it, what has she owned up to? There is always two sides of a story, you dress up a 'hog and they are still a hog' she created the situation just as he did. Give him a break! Go back and read her interviews, if she can smash her brother in the face with a bottle, well you go figure....
