Danny Dyer's liquid courage for gay photo shoot
May 3, 2009, 4:00 GMT
Danny Dyer drank sherry to prepare for a gay photo shoot.
The 'Football Factory' actor needed alcohol to help steady his nerves before taking his clothes off for the cover of Attitude in 2006.
Danny, 31, said: "I was nervous about the whole thing. I went to the studio and a guy said, 'Can you just take off your top?' So I took off my top and then he went, 'And could you take off your trousers?'
"I saw some sherry in his kitchen and thought, 'Give me some of that.' And that was it, I was anyone's."
The British star liked being on the cover of a gay magazine because it was at odds with his 'hard man' image - following his frequent portrayal of violent and macho characters.
Danny added: "I was actually quite pleased with it. I got away with it. At the time I was doing a documentary about men kicking the f**k out of each other, so to be on the front of a gay magazine, you know, I just thought I'd chuck it in the mix."
