Accused domestic abuser, convicted rapist and champion boxer Mike Tyson spoke out about the Rihanna and Chris Brown fight that erupted in Brown's rented Lamborghini.
Mike spoke to MTV as part of the press junket to promote "Tyson" which opens on Friday, and he squeezed in his thoughts on the two pop stars who have dominated the press in weeks past. Tyson tells MTV, "It's none of my business, but you know what I say about that? I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids."
Tyson told MTV reporters about Chris Brown, "My personal opinion about that is, he’s just a baby. He’s just a little baby that don’t know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman.
Tyson explained the concept of passion and how it was hard for young men to contain their behavior at times. "he probably hears this and thinks, ’I know how to handle my emotions’; we all think we do. But the fact [is], you look at this person and you might be crazy in love, but we don’t know how to handle those feelings."
He pointed out the Pimp mentality that has affected a lot of today's young men who have callous marginalized ideas of women, keeping them from "infecting their brains." "Now you’re a fly guy and a cool guy, you have this pimp mentality. You have to be hard like that."
Tyson was quick to offer a caveat: "You can’t abuse them," he said. "It’s really sick what you [can] do...Do I think it’s right to beat up a woman? No — hell no. Have I hit a woman before? Hell yeah. Was I wrong? Hell yeah. I’m a product of that environment. Do I regret ever doing that? Hell yeah. Would I do it again? Never."The boxing champ expressed empathy for troubled 19-year-old singer, "My personal opinion about that is, he's just a baby. He's just a little baby that don't know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman."
