Amy Winehouse smoked so much cannabis while recording a duet with Snoop Dogg she couldn't sing.

The 'Rehab' singer and the rapper got together to work on two tracks in Los Angeles last year, but they reportedly got so high they couldn't stop laughing long enough to record anything.

A source said: "Amy came to the studio buzzing with ideas and the pair got on really well, even though Snoop turned up in his dressing gown with slippers on, which had Amy giggling.

"They were working at a frenetic pace at first but as the day wore on and more smoke breaks took place, the work rate slackened.

"By the time their studio time ended they had a pair of tracks sketched out but no finished product."

The 25-year-old singer's US visa trouble and busy schedule has meant she has been unable to return to America to finish the tracks.

But in the months since their failed duet, Amy - who has battled drug addiction - appears to have mellowed.

She is set to headline the St. Lucia Jazz Festival next month and has shocked organisers with her sedate list of backstage demands, which include Yorkshire Tea and HP Sauce - a popular British condiment.

A friend said: "It has caused the organisers a complete headache. Yorkshire Tea isn't exactly the most popular beverage in St. Lucia, so they are going to have to fork out to have it shipped over. She misses her home comforts when she is away."

Amy - who spent three months on holiday in St. Lucia at the beginning of this year - has also requested 100 bottles of beer, four litres of tequila and 500 popsicles but requested the crew stay "sober at all times".

The source said: "Amy has cleaned up her act since last year and is in a really good place at the moment. She still likes to party but, thankfully, these days her worst vice is downing a couple of shots of tequila."
