Robert Pattinson proposed to 'Twilight' co-star Kristen Stewart.
The 18-year-old actress - who is dating 'Will and Grace' star Michael Angarano - said Pattinson was so "into" his character while filming the vampire movie he convinced himself he was in love with her.
She said: "Rob is very mysterious and very intense - and totally crazy. He proposed to me one day!
Pattinson added: "I can't believe I did that! That's really getting into character. It's pretty extreme."
Most girls would kill to be in Stewart's position, but she insists there is nothing "going on" between her and Pattinson, 22.
Stewart said: "I'm sure he's proposed to loads of girls before. He's a complete jokester!"
Pattinson agrees: "My favourite chat-up line when I was younger was to go straight up to a girl and say, 'Will you marry me? I don't want to mess around'.
These days, Pattinson is less outrageous, but claims he will never be as clean-cut as 'High School Musical' star Zac Efron.
He said: "I don't think I could be the new Zac. I've met him and he's really good at not offending anyone. He's a really cool guy in reality.
"He'll never do anything that'll be misconstrued. No one will ever say, 'Oh that guy is an idiot.' There's nothing bad you can say about him, whereas I'm told I'm an idiot - frequently!"

His actual words were something like 'No, I don't wash it too often -- I don't have a good sense of hygiene' whereupon the guest went and sat at the end of the couch and I think her actions and those of Jay Leno were kind of rude. What do you all think?
This is such old news. Why are they making such a big deal about it now?! I'm personally annoyed by all the Kristen/Rob talk. Let's face it, they arent going to be another Zac/Vanessa!!! Thank god.. BTW, Kristen is 19, not 18!!!
those are some really old quotes patched together for this interview, and you didn't even get the wording right. neither of them talk like that. nice try.....but no. lame.
i REALLY love the movie of twilight, and especially the two main cast of it bella(kristen stewart) and edward(robert pattinson). i hope they were a real-life lovers. oh! i do really hope so. keep up your good work in the next twilight saga: new moon.

Robert Pattinson is so endearing in his comments. The first interview I watched on youtube.com was the Jay Leno interview. I believe the host and the guest were both rude to him re his hair -- he came right back with a 'I like you all but I am who I am and I will say whatever I want to say'. This is a true free spirit and you have to admire him for it. I think those of us out here whatever age and whatever walk of life who also have some of this free spirit in us can understand him. He is so, so refreshingly HONEST, also. I think he is a nice guy. I think he has a good career ahead of him. And, we all really, really love the way he plays Edward............no one else could have done it as well! AND, I STILL think no matter how much he admires Jack Nicholson, he really, really reminds me of a young Marlon Brando. I have said that from the start.
