Photographer Yuri Cortez has filed a complaint with authorities in Costa Rica - where the couple reaffirmed their vows at the supermodel's home - alleging a security guard shot at his Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) after he refused to hand over a memory card from his digital camera.
Yuri - who claims he never stepped onto the venue grounds or left his car as he was taking pictures with a long lens - said: "I put my foot on the accelerator and I heard the gunshot that shattered the rear window and broke the windshield. It very nearly hit me."
Gisele and American football star Tom - who first tied the knot in secret in California on February 26 - exchanged vows in a short sunset ceremony in front of around 25 guests at the weekend.
The 28-year-old model wore a long designer dress and 10ft veil, while Tom wore a grey suit and they appeared happy and relaxed as they spoke with guests after the service.
A source said: "Gisele looked so gorgeous. She looked beautiful. Everyone seemed very happy, like they were having a great time."
Earlier in the day, the couple hosted his-and-hers wedding dinners.
Tom and the other men in his entourage headed for the luxurious Milarepa hotel for a 'bachelor's brunch', while Gisele entertained female guests at her home.
