The Babyshambles frontman met with BBC bosses on Tuesday (24.03.09) who asked him to pen a drama about the scandalous secrets behind his rock and roll life.
A source said: "Pete was meeting creative chiefs. They've commissioned him to write a show about the dark side of the music industry. They want a pilot episode written in the next six weeks. It will become a series if he does a good job. BBC bosses think Pete has a creative streak that will produce gritty TV. He's seen it all as a hellraising rock star so they want his experiences written in."
Reinforcing his rock 'n' roll credentials, the rocker recently revealed he wants to headbutt his ex-girlfriend Kate Moss' current lover Jamie Hince.
Pete - who was dumped by the supermodel in July 2007 - said: "I wanted to see Lily Allen play the other week, but her record label got in touch and said, 'We don't want you there because Kate Moss will be there and it will take attention away from Lily. Can you not go?'
"I was so insulted. I don't know, I think I would have been courteous enough. Then I'd probably have headbutted her new boyfriend, put her over my shoulder and run off."
Pete's wild antics include a long-running battle with heroin and crack cocaine addiction, burglary and stints in prison and rehab.
