Ryan O'Neal's son pleads not guilty
Mar 26, 2009, 10:30 GMT
Ryan O'Neal's son has pleaded not guilty to drug charges.
Ryan and 24-year-old Redmond - whose mother is actress Farrah Fawcett - were arrested last September after drugs were allegedly found in their Malibu home.
At a hearing yesterday (25.03.09), Redmond denied all charges.
He pleaded not guilty to four charges, a felony count of methamphetamine possession, two misdemeanour counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanour charge of illegal possession of pepper spray.
He will appear in court again on May 14.
In January, 67-year-old Ryan pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and agreed to enter an 18-month drug diversion programme. He will appear in court again on July 10.
Redmond has a history of drug abuse problems.
He entered rehab to be treated for heroin addiction in 2004 and last June pleased guilty to drug possession and driving under the influence.
In October, he told a court hearing he was embarking on drug treatment and was "doing a lot better".
His attorney Mark Werksman added: "Dealing with Redmond's problem over the years has been difficult for Ryan and his family, and this is another tough load for him to absorb."
