Lady Gaga talks about Spears, underwear and QVC

Lady Gaga is obsessed with Britney Spears. 

“I used to go to TRL with my girlfriends after school sometimes just to see Britney’s fingernail in the window.”

Plus, she reveals when she is middle-aged, its the Joan Rivers retirement plan for her.  Gaga says, “…When I turn 55, I want to become a QVC girl…”

With her number one single, Just Dance, and her off-beat sense of style, Lady Gaga has officially made her entrance onto the music scene. As she prepares to kick off The Fame Ball Tour, Extra spoke with the pop star to get to know the woman behind the name – From her Britney Spears obsession to her secret desire to sell vacuums on QVC!

Answering the burning question, she tells how she came up with her stage name saying, “[It’s from] the Queen song, Radio Gaga.”

Writing the song, Quicksand, for Britney Spears was a dream come true for Lady Gaga who, despite never meeting her, is a huge fan. She admits, “I used to go to TRL with my girlfriends after school sometimes just to see Britney’s fingernail in the window.”

Joking, she adds, “She’s on tour and she’s focused. I’m a terrible influence. Larry Rudolph [Spears’ manager] probably has a ‘If you see this girl, don’t let her in’ [sign in the office].”

As for Lady Gaga’s favorite Spears’ song, she says, “I’ve gotta say Slave 4 U was a moment for everyone. When that b*tch came out with that slamm’in body and that sweaty video we were all like, ‘We can’t hate on you.’ She ended every pop diva queen’s life. It’s a good video.”

Lady Gaga reveals her future plans saying, “I sort of have a secret desire that when I turn 55, I want to become a QVC girl [and sell] domestic vacuums. It’s all about the hair flip and the manicure. 

Known for her continuous lack of outwear, Lady Gaga comments, “It’s the funniest thing because I have such a rap as being this, raunchy, over the top….but I dress quite sophisticated actually.” When asked how she stays warm in her underwear, she says, “I think about being in bed with a really good looking guy.”

Regarding the reports that she plans to launch her own fashion line, she declares, “No, that’s a big rumor. Here’s the thing. I’m so busy…and I don’t want to vomit merchandise all over the fashion world and call it my line… If I were to do it, I’d want to take a minute, and a break, and really do it.”
