Chris Brown and Rihanna; whose career will suffer more?

Chris Brown is still in the running for the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

The Kids' Choice Awards will air on March 28.

Brown has been accused of assault and battery against Rihanna.  The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office released a statement about charging Brown with two felonies.

Brown appeared in court last week and the statement identifies the victim as "Robyn F." Rihanna's name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

According to a detective's notes from the scene and a search warrant, reported by Fox 11 in Los Angeles, Rihanna, 21, read a text message from a woman on Brown's phone, which led to an argument.

Brown attempted to force Rihanna out of the Lamborghini they were in, and hit her head against the passenger window.

Rihanna then "turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand," says the paperwork. "He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand."

Blood filled Rihanna's mouth and Brown, 19, allegedly told her, "I'm going to beat the shit out of you when we get home. You wait and see!" Rihanna called her assistant and left a message saying, "I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there."

The police notes say that prompted Brown to say: "You just did the stupidest thing ever. Now I'm really going to kill you."

The report also says that Brown bit Rihanna and put her in a headlock, and that she almost lost consciousness. "Brown resumed punching [Rihanna] and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face," according to the notes. "She then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown."

Eventually, Rihanna began screaming for help and Brown got out of the car, according to the notes. A nearby resident heard the calls for help and called 911.

Regarding the kid's choice awards, Chris Brown competes with his No. 1 single "Kiss Kiss" opposite Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music," Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl." In the race for favorite male singer — a prize he won last year — Brown squares off against his "Kiss Kiss" collaborator T-Pain, 2006 winner Jesse McCartney and Kid Rock. Brown also competed in the category in 2007, but lost to Justin Timberlake.

Rihanna is nominated for favorite female singer for the first time, taking on last year's champ Miley Cyrus, 2007 winner Beyonce and three-time nominee Alicia Keys.

At this year's Grammys, they both contended in the pop vocal collaboration category. Brown and Jordin Sparks were nominated for "No Air" while Rihanna and Maroon 5 were up for "If I Never See Your Face Again." They lost to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss ("Rich Woman").

Both Rihanna and Chris Brown avoided the NAACP Image Awards, which came only five days after the Grammy-eve incident that changed ther lives.

The National Enquirer claims exclusively that the "Umbrella" singer Rihanna "used makeup to cover up a bruised eye last summer, and confessed to pals that 19-year-old Brown had punched her."

Asked why she stayed with him, Rihanna allegedly told her friends: “When he hurts me, he’s a beast, but then he turns into my angel!”
