Girls Aloud are desperate to crack America.
The British pop group - who recently won the Best British Single prize for 'The Promise' at the BRIT Awards - are hoping to make it in the US after the track made an impact on the club scene.
Singer Cheryl Cole recently visited Los Angeles and is confident she has impressed important music industry executives.
A source said: "Cheryl is opening lots of doors for Girls Aloud and 'The Promise' is doing really well in the US nightclubs. She has told the girls that 2010 is the year for the band's global domination."
The group recently signed a new three-album deal with Fascination, and record bosses are now plotting the best time to send the band - which also includes Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts - to the US to increase their profile.
The source added: "American domination is the next thing on their 'to do' list."
Last month, it was claimed Cheryl had wowed US record executives, leaving them desperate for her to sign a solo contract.
However, the brunette beauty - whose husband, soccer star Ashley Cole, was arrested for being drunk and disorderly following a row with police this week - insists she has no plans to leave the group.
