The 'Reader' star, who won the Best Actress Academy Award at last week's ceremony, is planning to display the famous statuette in an unusual place in her home.
Kate - who is married to Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes - said: "The statue is going in the toilet, next to Sam's! I'm not taking it on a set. I'm just going to work the way I've always worked, which is just to get on with it.
"I hope it won't change anything in how other directors and actors work with me."

Kate - who has two children, eight-year-old Mia from a previous relationship and son Joe, five, with Sam - is keen to take a break from acting for a while and go on holiday with her family.
She explained to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "I am planning a summer of getting totally away from it all. We will probably rent a house in Italy and maybe visit our favourite haunt in Cornwall."
