Vanessa Hudgens hints at starring in Twilight Sequel New Moon

Vanessa Hudgens, star of the Disney solid gold franchise, "High School Musical" and all its spinoffs, may be the latest young actor to hitch themselves to the Stephenie Meyer teen vampire saga.
Summit Entertainment, the film studio behind the release of the first "Twilight" film, has already announced the release date for the third installment in the "Twilight" saga. "Eclipse" will hit theaters on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
The first sequel, "New Moon", is only in pre-production with a release date set for November 20, 2009, but the studio is already moving forward the follow-up.
Melissa Rosenberg, who penned the screenplays for both "Twilight" and "New Moon", is already working on the script for "Eclipse", consulting with the saga's literary author Stephenie Meyer.
High School Musical starlet Vanessa Hudgens is hoping to sign on to star as Leah Clearwater in Twilight sequel, New Moon.
At Sunday night’s Oscars, “Extra’s” Mario Lopez cleared up the rumors when he caught up with Hudgens on the red carpet.
Hudgens declared, “It's still a rumor. I'm really interested, I think it's a great project but nothing's happening as of now.” When asked if she’s a fan of the movie, Hudgens responded, “Yes love it. My sister has read all of the books too.”
New Moon hits theaters on November 20, 2009.

i love twilight i red all the books and watched the movie 3 times but putting venessa hughens on it shes to happy and brady bunchy evey body at my school thinks she sucks and it will reuin the movie

I would like to tell the moving making people of twilight to please not allow VH to be in New Moon. I don't really want a Disney character in every movie i see and especially not in a movie and book series like Twilight.

Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene and on a lesser scale Kristen Stewart.
All experienced but mostly unheard of.
This was great because think of other stars, they are known as 'Gabriella' for example. Vanessa Hudgens will always be 'That High School Musical Star' not Leah.
Frankly I will be disgusted if she is in it. She isnt as dark and Id love to see a REAL Native American play Leah. Give a new kid a go!

I'm only going to say one thing. The script writer, Melissa Rosenberg, didn't write a part for Leah. Leah is NOT in the movie. Ergo, Vanessa cannot audition for a part that doesn't exist.

HHHMMM....Vanessa Hudgens as Leah Clearwater, I really don't think that's going to be possible. I mean Leah Clearwater she is more like a tomboish chick. And vannessa looks to girly for this script. They should go for someone else more down to earth...and simple! And theres prtty much more better actress out there that the Director could choose. Cause I mean 'Come On, Vanessa Hudgens' I think they can do better in that!
I don't think VH should be in New Moon. She doesn't look indian she is to goody goody to play Leah. And if she doesnt have a part in the movie it doesnt really matter.

I think that she is a great actress and it doesnt matter who she played before ...its called acting!!!Duhhh!You only think that she is a goody-goody because HSM is a *Disney* show.She's an actress and if she is good enough to be in films as a lead role then abviously she can act any character she wants!

Oh god please no, she is soo goody goody boring! Leah is supposed to be a misunderstood B!tch. I think this role calls for someone a little deeper.
