Photo said to be of battered Rihanna released on web

Los Angeles - A photograph purportedly of pop star Rihanna taken shortly after she was allegedly attacked by her then-boyfriend Chris Brown was posted online by the gossip website TMZ.com.
The image released Thursday showed the 21-year-old with deep bruises on either side of her forehead, blackened areas around her eyes and what appeared to be blood at the corners of her mouth.
The picture matched descriptions of her injuries provided by police shortly after the incident on the eve of the Grammy awards this month, but police would not confirm or deny the authenticity of the picture.
TMZ did not say how the picture came into its possession.
It was released several days after Brown, 19, apologized without confirming any of the specific allegations.
Brown was arrested the day after the incident and charged with making criminal threats. Neither Brown or Rihanna have been seen in public since then.
Brown is free on bail of 50,000 dollars and was expected in court on March 5.

Rihanna is so gorgeous and talented, but it is really now her emotional scarring which need she needs to heal as she will have to deal with these the rest of her life and in all of her future relationships.

Oh, please. They're _more_ than happy to release mug shots, but they're hush-hush over victims' photos? Lies.
It's sad we live in a society where we NEED to see photos for ourselves to believe a problem is as big as it's reported. But, here we are. To all those who say it never happened or said it was blown out of proportion, I give you Exhibit 'A'. Take a good look. Absorb the goriness in all its horror and don't be so quick to minimize an ordeal next time it happens.

I do feel Rihanna has been through enough and this is such a disrespect to her to have this photo shown. She is still beautiful, in my and many of our eyes.

Rhiannon is such a gorgeous and talented person, I think in no way did she deserve this to happen to her. I though she and Chris Brown were the perfect couple, but he's a pig! How could you hurt the person who you're supposed to love???

I have a daughter your age who came home one day with bruises on her arm and told me she was just play fighting with this guy she was dating.... long story short, it did not have a story book ending.I am hoping that she will have learned something from it,only time will tell. Growing up in Barbados, I saw this too many times. My own mother was an abused woman,so I had to make a decision, was I going to let the cycle continue.
I decided no man on this planet was EVER going to be worth that. Today, I am happily married (22 years) to a man that absolutely thinks I am the best thing since white bread. Rhianna, I hope you read this. All the money in the world cannot buy you happiness or a piece of mind. Since you grew up in Barbados, I know that you grew up with the Lord in your life. Get back to your roots, get some counselling,Do not let Hollywood swing your head gurl(they live in La La Land) and finally, DO Not EVER go back to Chris. You need to handle your business boy, you,re off to a rocky start, buy yourself a damm punching bag.No amount of apologies can fix this. Any Expert will tell you this is not the first time Chris has done this It,s just the first time he,s gotten caught. RUN RHIANNA RUN, AND DO NOT LOOK BACK.
