Young Bristol Palin is pensive, yet positive about having a young baby, but hindsight has set in as she tells reporters that perhaps waiting would have been the best for her, and that the struggles to catch up for education will be daunting.
The 18-year-old daughter of the former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin told FOX News' "On the Record" that the decision to keep the child was hers, and abstinence from sex is "not realistic at all."
Bristol hopes to give a wake up call to other girls her age in similar circumstances.
"I wished it could have happened in like, 10 years so I could have a job and an education and be, like, prepared and have my own house and stuff," Bristol Palin said in the interview where her 2-month-old son Tripp made his television debut.
"But he brings so much joy, I don't regret it at all. I just wish it would have happened in 10 years, rather than right now."
The second part of the interview with Greta Van Susteren and Bristol Palin will air tonight at 10 ET on Fox News.
Bristol's mother Sarah Palin is mentioned as a possible GOP presidential contender in 2012. She launched a political-action committee last month dedicated to supporting "fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation."
