Troubled singer Amy Winehouse was admitted to a hospital after collapsing in St. Lucia.

Winehouse was taken to a medical facility Friday night after suddenly falling ill.

CNN reported that a representative for the star claims she collapsed after running out of medication she had been using to combat drug addiction.

Winehouse has been in the island resort since December following several near death overdoses throughout 2008.

Winehouse's spokesperson claim she is recovering and is expected to be released from hospital shortly.
