Fergie is adopting a dog with her new husband Josh Duhamel.
The couple - who wed in a lavish ceremony in Malibu last month - already have dachshunds Zoe and Dylan and are keen to add another pooch to their family.
A source said: "They're looking for something a little bigger, like a golden retriever."
The Black Eyed Peas singer and her 'Transformers' star husband are regularly seen out and about with their dogs - Josh was spotted taking a pet for a check-up at the vet on February 3.
The pair's decision to give a dog a new home comes after it was reported they were gearing up to adopt a child.
A source said: "They are seriously considering adopting. Fergie isn't ready to put her career on hold to have a child right now, but she knows starting a family is important to Josh and wants to make him happy."
