Why the picking on Jessica Simpson?

Really, what gives here? Jessica Simpson isn't the sort of celebrity who stumbles out of clubs late in the night, sans underwear like some of her contemporaries.
She is a devoted family girl and is close to her sister Ashlee, her father and manager Joe. She doesn't go cuckoo, shave her head, or serial date like some other famous blondes, and she's lovely to look at.
So why is the media constantly picking at her?
The tabloids are running unsubstantiated claims that her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, is cheating on her.
The worst of it was the "weight gain" rumors, which were ridiculous. The camera angle for the "offending photos" was below stage level, shot upward, an angle that would make Twiggy look like a lipo candidate.
Now word from Michigan is that Simpson's opening-act set Thursday night in was "an off-night," for her according to Cindi Berger, Simpson's publicist, reported by the Associated Press on Friday.
A reporter for the Grand Rapids Press claimed the singer forgot her lyrics, struggled with her ear monitors, mumbled through songs and fought back tears as she exited the stage after a 38-minute set.
Fans are not lining up for refunds for the alleged "botched" performance.
Simpson is unfailingly polite to reporters, loyal to family and friends and outside of the old "Chicken of the Sea" silly remark, really doesn't deserve the dog-pile.

Probably because she is a highly over-rated singer and a true 'blonde' - if you get what I mean. If she didn't show so much boob and didn't have good hair and body, she wouldn't get anywhere. I'll never understand the facination with Britney - another no talent. There are so many really great singers out there who don't cause a scene so to speak, that these two don't deserve a second glance.
She has been given more chances than anyone to prove there is some reason for her fame and fails constantly. That audience deserve their money back after she basically behaved like she didn't want to be there. So go away Jessica!
I just looked at those photos and I would kill to look that 'fat!' She is 'fat' just like Britney Spears was 'fat' for her comeback. It is no wonder we have girls as young as 6 thinking they have to starve themselves. Whenever a female doesn't look like she just got out of of Auschwitz, people say, 'OMG, she is humongous. Don't you think she looks FAT!!!' Whatever I think of her brain cell, Jessica looks perfect, no Nicole Ritchie starved look about her, and that is just fine.
She behaved at this concert as though she was drunk and at least one audience member said that she looked to be drinking on stage. Papa Joe may try to cover up her mess better than Britney's did but the only difference between the two is that Britney actually has fans.
The media does not like her. They watched her treat her husband like dirt on TV and they will never forget it. He treated her like a princess and she broke his heart.
i think that jessica simpson is a really good singer and people should just give her a chance cause she is a wonderful person.
She can't sing and she can't act - that's the problem. She's in the same class as Paris. As far as her weight, who cares if she isn't bone thin, but anyone in the public eye is always held up to scrutiny, like it or not. Jennifer Hudson isn't slim, but SHE has talent - a big difference in some people's eyes. Jessica has always flaunted her big boobs courtesy of PaPa Joe, and tried to act so sexy and cutesy, so people will comment about her weight. Since she doesn't have talent, her looks are what gets her where she is, so........
I feel sorry for all those people who paid to see a show and instead got a mess that didn't want to be there and just wanted to see her boyfriend. Rascall Flatts should be ashamed of being part of this stunt.
If she wasn't pretty, no one would give a crap about her. As far as the weight goes, she is starting to look like she is healthy and not an Euthiopian on epicac.

She has limited talent & singing ability. She will do any thing for money. Movies, albums, clothing line, shoe line, hair pieces, make-up. Enough is enough. I was suprised she was opening for Rascal Flatts.
maybe they couldn't get anyone else at the time, but her??? I've been turned off from her ever since Daddy talked about her 36 double D's, and he was supposed to have been a pastor! I'd be furious if my dad talked about my body like that. A boyfriend maybe, but a dad!!!
Jessica gained a few pounds but she’s still beautiful. I read here (www.projectweightloss.com) about her reactions to all the gossips and rumors in the media and, wow, she sure surprised me.
