The election of President Barack Obama has sparked a more vocal group of Black conservatives and Republicans into the spotlight, vociferously anti-liberal, and financially and religiously conservative.
The election of Republican National Committee's first African-American party chief Friday, Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, further strengthens the profile of all Black Americans in the political landscape.
A true conservative, Steele is the first Black leader of the Republican Party. Steele came through as the winner on the sixth ballot, winning 91 votes to Dawson's 77 according to CNN.
"We're going to say to friend and foe alike, we want you to be a part of us," Steele told party members in his victory speech. "And to those of you who will obstruct, get ready to get knocked over."
"I'm proud to say I'm a conservative, have been, always will be," Steele told CNN this month. "So this notion that I'm a moderate is slightly overblown and, quite frankly, a lie."
Along with Steele's emergence, a young actor-musician-producer is making waves on the viral video circuit; his spirited defense of conservative values and fiscal responsibility are gaining an audience.
Alfonzo (Zo) Rachel has produced several short format videos under the banner of machosauceproduction.
Zo, the Founder of Macho Sauce Productions, describes himself as “a musician, martial artist, amateur movie makin’, Christian conservative republican,” who is pro-life, and promotes low taxes and personal responsibility.
