Mickey Rourke had to be helped up stairs by his girlfriend after suffering so many injuries from 'The Wrestler'.
The 56-year-old actor - who recently won a Golden Globe Award for his role as Randy 'The Ram' Robinson in the movie -wasn't prepared for the effects the brutal fighting scenes would have on his body.
He said: "I had to try harder to get up in the morning. And because of my extra bulk a football knee from high school acted up again. Two hundred years later! And my woman had to get behind me and push me up the stairs. I was pathetic looking!
"So my knees wouldn't hold up, because of all the extra weight and the exercise. And all the injuries you get from being thrown down, you know?"
Mickey recently revealed he is planning to step into the wrestling ring for real, after WWE owner Vince McMahon got in touch.
Mickey said: "Now, Vince wants me to do WrestleMania in Houston. Chris Jericho, I'm coming after your a*s! You better get yourself in shape brother, I'm going to do it! You bet your a*s I'm going to do it!"

I just came from this movie...it's 3:54 at the time I sit to write and I went to a 1:00 showing...It was a good movie Mickey deserves any accolades or awards he happens to be nominated or in line for...I just recently read the life Story of SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM ' Tangled ropes ' and putting the two together gave me a closer insight to what the world of Wrestling is all about. Even moreso than BEYOND THE MAT did.
While ' MAT ' was a good film it did not tug the heart strings when you saw Jake ' THE SNAKE ' Roberts doing crack after a match when he should be paying bills or something more responsible like getting himself clean...The film ' the WRESTLER ' did a good job of showing you why these guys do it..not for fame of money or for recognition but for the love they have for the craft of sports entertainment. They just want to put on a good show so they can hear the chants and cheers and boo's, knowing the audience is satisfied with every pre-planned execution of a highly dangerous manuever only the pro's should be doing.
One thing though...I hate films that just end.
