Lily Allen's father has told her to "f***ing shut up'.
Actor Keith Allen - who was famed for his wild partying in the mid-90s with Blur bassist Alex James and artist Damien Hirst - says the singer needs to learn to conduct herself more calmly in public or risk damaging her career.
He blasted: "As a man, I could drink, snort, and f**k to my heart's content without major detriment to my career. A girl cannot do that.
"People are shameless in trying to create a race to rehab between any girl out there who has a drink. But Lily's learning what Daddy learned long ago - fame is a pain in the f***ing arse.
"And I don't mind saying this, because I've told her already - she needs to know when to f***ing shut up."
Despite her father's words, Lily says she has learned to keep a low profile.
She told Spin magazine: "If staying in and watching 'CSI' is the price of killing off the ridiculous party-girl character that's been created for me, all well and good."
