On the set of "Sherlock Holmes", actor Robert Downey Jr. reacted to Exta following the announcement of his Oscar nomination for his unconventional role in Tropic Thunder.

On the set of "Sherlock Holmes", actor Robert Downey Jr. reacted to Exta following the announcement of his Oscar® nomination for his unconventional role in Tropic Thunder. EPA/JAVIER ETXEZARRETADowney says, “It just shows you how far everyone in entertainment and politics has come.”Downey was asked about recent pictures of Holmes co-star, Jude Law, wearing a neck brace. Downey explains, “He just pulled it. We're always exercising and doing fight choreography. We should just start wearing neck braces as a preemptive measure...It’s very physical. This is a serious, in your face action adventure version of Sherlock Holmes.”As for his non-scripted fighting skills, Downey laughs, “I can probably sustain a two minute bout with most teenage girls - which is saying a lot.”Congratulating fellow nominee, Josh Brolin (Best Supporting Actor, MILK), exclaims, “Robert, I'm so happy to be in this same circle with you. We've known each other a long time. Our kids go to the same school. I love that we're going to be going through this together. Congratulations” Downey responds, “Josh, back at ya buddy!”“Extra’s” interview with Robert Downey, Jr. airs tonight.
