Kelly Osbourne is a slapper

Kelly Osbourne was arrested on assault charges.  The daughter of feisty Sharon Osbourne and rocker Ozzy Osbourne allegedly slapped a gossip columnist back in August.

The 24-year-old is now out on bail.

The Daily Mail reports the curvy singer was arrested earlier this month on an assault charge from a August 2008 incident at a London nightclub,

Osbourne slapped Daily Mirror gossip columnist Zoe Griffin at Soho district hangout, Punk, because in a column, Griffin called Osbourne's fiancé, Luke Worrall, stupid and said that the 19-year-old didn't know what an earthquake was.

Allegedly Osbourne flew "into a rage" before slapping Griffin.

Griffin described the event in a subsequent column, saying Osbourne told her, "I have an issue with you. My boyfriend knows what an earthquake is, and everyone has been laughing at him, and he's upset."

London authorities say "I can confirm that a 24-year-old woman attended a central London police station by appointment at 3 p.m. on January 2," the statement said. "She was arrested for common assault relating to an alleged incident in Soho in the early hours of 29th August 2008. She was bailed to attend a central London police station on a date in March."

Reps for Osbourne, who is out on bail until a March court date, refused to comment about the incident.

Kelly's arrest is on the heels of the Los Angeles Police Department investigation of Sharon Osbourne for allegedly assaulting "Rock of Love: Charm School" contestant Megan Hauserman during production of the show.
