A former Los Angeles paraphernalia purveyor has told the tabloids an old story about Brad Pitt's alleged stoner past.
The Globe reportedly interviewed Craig X. Rubin, who alleged Pitt was a weed loving beach bum in his early actor days.
Pitt now is a busy father of six young children with his partner Angelina Jolie, who has revealed her own wild party past in interviews over the years.
Rubin's business - 2000BC - catered to the trendy and famous, and he claims Pitt was a regular: "It was no secret Brad liked to smoke pot. He was so open and honest about it. It seemed to me all he wanted to do was smoke weed, make movies and go to the beach. He'd come into the shop all the time. He came in once and was excited about smoking with one of his very big-name co-stars. 'We blaze (smoke pot) every day in his trailer,' Brad boasted. He had a huge grin on his face."
In 2007, The Rev. Craig X Rubin, 41, the leader of the 420 Temple faced up to four years, eight months in prison for possessing marijuana for sale.
Rubin wrote all about his celebrity customers like Pitt in 9021GROW: The Story of Hollywood's Wizard of Weed (2005).
Rubin, who has appeared in the Showtime show "Weeds," and some 400 members of his church say they believe marijuana is a religious sacrament and burn and smoke pot during services.
Rubin has political aspirations, and is now running for Mayor of Los Angeles. Rubin says on his website: "Prior to working as a pastor I authored a hardback book, 9021GROW, about my personal experiences at UCLA founding and running a Free Speech Club, owning a hemp store on Melrose called “2000BC,” and working to end the prohibition of cannabis."
"I know that 85% of all drug arrests are for marijuana and that marijuana is not only benign it is benevolent. Therefore, the Drug War is a big waste of tax payer dollars that damages minority communities more than it helps them. That is why I think my opponents will try to use unseemly tactics against me feeling as if they have a duty to do so to protect the world from a plant that G-d created."
