Morrissey's music quit threat
Jan 14, 2009, 11:20 GMT
Morrissey has hinted he is set to quit music.
The former Smiths frontman has admitted he knows his career cannot last forever and is now considering ending his 26-year chart career before he loses his "dignity".
He told Filter magazine: "I don't want to go on much longer, really.
"I think that would suggest a lack of imagination. A certain lack of dignity also. There has to reach a point where you've said enough, I think."
Fans have the chance to see what could be the iconic singer's last performances when he tours in May.
The singer is set to play two nights - including the evening of his 50th birthday on May 22 - in his hometown of Manchester and one night in London.
He will perform at London's Royal Albert Hall on May 11, before travelling north for his birthday show and another on May 23 at the Manchester Apollo.
The concerts will come hot on the heels of Morrissey's eagerly anticipated new album 'Years of Refusal', due to hit shops on February 16.
