Sam Shepard's Illinois DUI arrest

Sam Shepard was arrested early on Saturday in Illinois and charged with speeding while under the influence, police said.The actor and playwright's long-time partner is actress Jessica Lange.Shepard, 65, was pulled over in Normal, Illinois.His blood alcohol was twice the legal limit and he was driving 46 mph the 30 mph speed limit according to the Bloomington, Illinois, Pantagraph.Shepard received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of test pilot Chuck Yeager in the film "The Right Stuff." He also appeared opposite Lange in the 2005 Wim Wenders film, "Don't Come Knocking."
