All jobs have their pluses and minuses; some more than others. David Copperfield's assistant may be thinking about a career switch after his gruesome accident witnessed by a paying audience.
Magician David Copperfield stopped his live show in Vegas after his assistant was severely injured by rotating fan blades on stage.
It is reported that Copperfield was at his assistant's bedside when we woke up from his extensive surgery.
CNN reported that Wednesday the assistant walked into an industrial fan used in Copperfield's Las Vegas stage show.
"During an illusion where David attempts to walk through the rotating blades of a 12-foot high industrial fan, the fan and its platform were being rotated by one of David's illusion technicians," a rep for the show told Usmagazine.com.
"Just prior to David himself walking through the fan, [the assistant] was accidentally pulled into the vortex of the moving fan blades, causing injury to his arm and face."
The assistant, named Brandon required extensive surgery to his arm and face, said the rep.
Audience members who attended Copperfield's "An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion" told Usmagazine.com that "blood was everywhere, and the other assistants dragged the victim back."
