David and Victoria Beckham's housekeepers have been cleared of stealing from their employers.

Three people had been accused of stealing from the superstar couple's mansion in Hertfordshire, England, then trying to sell the items on internet auction site eBay.

Hertfordshire police said yesterday (17.12.08) no charges would be filed in the case, but an investigation is ongoing.

Married couple Eric and June Emmett - who had worked for the Beckham family for 10 years - were arrested along with their son Gareth, 25, in October.

Suspicion was raised after several personal items - including a pair of soccer star David's boots and numerous pieces of the former Spice Girl's designer clothing - were spotted for sale online by a friend of Victoria's parents, Tony and Jackie Adams.

June, 56, who has always denied the charges, said at the time: "We are all completely innocent parties. I would never hurt that family."

A spokesperson for Victoria said: "At this stage no further action will be taken and David and Victoria are grateful to have their belongings back."

Meanwhile, the Beckhams are reportedly disagreeing over where to spend Christmas.

Friends say Los Angeles Galaxy player David, 33, wants to return to Britain with his wife and three sons for a traditional celebration.

However, Victoria, 34, convinced him they should stay in Los Angeles - where they have lived since the summer of last year.

A source said: "Victoria has had so many British Christmases and wants to have the Hollywood version. She feels it would send out the right message to American fans and celebrity pals that they're happy and willing to spend their holidays in their new home.

"But David would love to be back in England. He wants the boys to spend some time with his dad, Ted, who can't fly to Los Angeles because of recent heart problems."
