Sharon Osbourne TV assault claims

Sharon Osbourne is being investigated by police after allegedly pulling the hair of a contestant on a US reality TV show.

The 56-year-old presenter has been accused by 29-year-old model Megan Hauserman of pulling her hair and scratching her after the pair had a verbal argument at a taping of 'Rock of Love: Charm School' - a series about etiquette and manners - in Los Angeles on Saturday (13.12.08).

It has now been claimed the fight broke out after former Playboy model Megan made a disparaging comment about Sharon's husband Ozzy Osbourne.

A source told gossip website TMZ.com: "Megan reckoned Sharon was sniping at her so she made a comment back saying Sharon was only famous for managing a rock star who isn't famous anymore - then it all kicked off."

Kate Lopez, a spokesperson for Los Angeles Police Department, confirmed officers had received a complaint from Megan and Sharon is now a suspect in a case of minor battery.

She added: "We know Sharon Osbourne was involved in some way, we just don't know how."

However, a representative for Sharon insists the incident has been exaggerated, saying: "This has been blown out of all proportion."

'Rock of Love: Charm School' sees contestants competing to date rock singer Bret Michaels after getting lessons on etiquette and manners from Sharon.
