Kiefer Sutherland has been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The '24' star accepted the honour at a star-studded ceremony outside a parking garage on Hollywood Boulevard, where his star is located, yesterday (09.12.08).
Kiefer's 73-year-old father, 'Dirty Sexy Money' star Donald Sutherland, gave a tear-jerking speech, describing his son as an "astonishingly good" actor.
Donald publicly supported his troubled 41-year-old son throughout his 48-day jail sentence for driving under the influence (DUI) last year.
After Kiefer's arrest, Donald said: "All I can tell you is that Kiefer is the most honourable, responsible, decent man I know, and I love him with a passion. Kiefer behaved in a way that was so pure and so perfect and so respectful. There are other elements in our community that were less so, but he was perfect."
Kiefer is the 2,377th celebrity to be awarded a star on the famous street since the first was given to Joanne Woodward in 1960.
Film director Joel Schumacher and Kiefer's '24' co-stars Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carlos Bernard and Annie Wersching attended the ceremony.
