Brad Pitt's Angelina competition

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will compete at the 14th Annual Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles next year.

The couple - who raise six children together - will see their movies 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' and 'Changeling' battle it out for the prestigious Best Picture award at the ceremony next year.

Other competitors in the category include 'The Dark Knight', 'Doubt', 'Frost/Nixon', 'Milk', 'Wall-E', 'The Wrestler' and Kate Winslet's new film 'The Reader'.

Brad has also been nominated in the Best Actor category - but faces fierce competition from Clint Eastwood, Sean Penn, Richard Jenkins, Frank Langella and Mickey Rourke for the prize.

Angelina features in the Best Actress category, along with Kate Beckinsale, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Melissa Leo and Meryl Streep.

Late actor Heath Ledger - who died of an accidental drugs overdose in January - has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor accolade for his role as The Joker in 'The Dark Knight'.

He is joined by Josh Brolin and James Franco for 'Milk', Robert Downey, Jr. for 'Tropic Thunder' and Philip Seymour Hoffman for 'Doubt'.

Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Viola Davis, Vera Farmiga, Taraji P. Henson and Marisa Tomei have all been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress prize.

Other categories in the nominations include Best Writer, Best Acting Ensemble and Best Song.

The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on January 8.
