Blur's festival reunion

Blur are set to headline next year's Glastonbury music festival. The British band - who have not worked together since 2003 album 'Think Tank' - are due to confirm their reunion later today (09.12.08).Hopes of the band - comprising frontman Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree - reuniting had previously seemed bleak following tension between members.A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It was the reunion many thought would never happen. Graham and Damon's relationship had become toxic by 2002. But they've patched up their differences and are friends again."The group have done some rehearsals and are all pleased with the results. They've decided it is time to go back out on the road."Blur plan to follow up the June festival with a huge stage show of their own at London's Hyde Park in July.Damon - who has enjoyed a successful solo career since the split with projects including alternative band Gorillaz and stage musical 'Monkey: Journey To The West' - has recruited British actor Phil Daniels to reprise his role as narrator of the band's hit track 'Parklife' at the performances.The source added: "Damon didn't want to do the shows without Phil because he was so integral to the band's most successful phase."Alex has recently denied rumours of the band getting back together in favour of a career in classical music.He said: "You know pop music is about, 'I love you forever let's run away together'. "I've done that bit, I've run away forever and I'm on the next thing now which is, 'Look, we've run away together, here we are surrounded by nappies - where's the violins?'"
