"I haven't visited Taiwan for several years, but I have never forgotten Taiwan."The Dalai Lama praised Taiwan's democracy in the televised interview. The exiled Tibetan spiritual and temporal leader also told AFP reporters that sex was a fleeting satisfaction and chastity offered a more satisfying life and "more freedom.""Sexual pressure, sexual desire, actually I think is short period satisfaction and often, that leads to more complication," the Dalai Lama told reporters in a Lagos hotel.Sexual life offered "too much ups and downs...naturally as a human being ... some kind of desire for sex comes, but then you use human intelligence to make comprehension that those couples always full of trouble. And in some cases there is suicide, murder cases," the Dalai Lama revealed to reporters.According to the AFP news service, the Lama said the "consolation" in celibacy is that although "we miss something, but at the same time, compare whole life, it's better, more independence, more freedom.""Too much attachment towards your children, towards your partner," was "one of the obstacle or hindrance of peace of mind," the 73-year-old Nobel Peace laureate reportedly said.The Dalai Lama is scheduled to go to the Czech Republic and then on to Brussels to address the European Parliament before heading to Poland to meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

I have sex, children and a wife. I suffer from none of that which the Dalai Lama speaks of. Infact, just the opposite.

I doubt that he has been enlightened enough regarding this subject. In fact, he sounds about as narrow minded as the pope.

How bizarrerie his words are! Dalai is so hypocrisy and pretentious!
How could a lama (a monk supposed to be without any experience of sex in his whole 'holy life') talk about the functions of sex? or Did the 'holy lama' have first hand sexual experiences that no one knows? Haha,just kidding,no offense to that old bald monk;)
