Ricky Gervais has admitted he is in line to host the Oscars.
The 'Ghost Town' actor says he has been approached by organisers of the annual film awards ceremony, but thinks it is unlikely he will get the highly sought-after job.
He said: "It is a true rumour. I have been approached and I am now on a list. But I think everyone else on the list - including Billy Crystal and everybody - would have to turn it down before they offered it to me."
Ricky also revealed he would never consider moving to Hollywood because of the earthquakes and fires that occur in Los Angeles.
He added to Radio 1: "On the day I was going to be doing some open houses in Los Angeles there was an earthquake. It was only a 3.0 on the Richter scale or something but I just thought, 'I didn't want to live somewhere where your house could fall down because of an earthquake.'
"I try and stay away from Hollywood unless I really need to go there. I only go there for award ceremonies now really."
