Madonna not heartbroken

Madonna is "not heartbroken" by her divorce from Guy Ritchie, according to friends.

The US singer was granted a decree nisi from film director Guy on Friday (21.11.08) at a London court, ending nearly eight years of marriage.

One source - who met with the ?Miles Away' singer just hours before the divorce hearing, which neither party attended - says she's coping well with the split.

The friend said: "It's a sad situation, but she's not heartbroken. She's handling it well. She's got a very busy life"

The source adds that Madonna is focussing on her children and her work - she is currently performing on her ?Sticky and Sweet' world tour - to keep her mind off Guy.

Madonna, 50, was also reunited with sons, David Banda, three, and Rocco, eight in New York after they spent the week with Guy on Saturday (22.11.08).

Under the terms of the divorce, David - whom the couple adopted from Malawi - and Rocco will split their time between their parents, while Lourdes, 12, Madonna's eldest daughter from a previous relationship will remain solely with her.

Meanwhile it has been revealed that Madonna had prepared a dossier on Guy to support her citing his "unreasonable behaviour" when filing for divorce, and enable her to get sole custody of the children.

According to a friend, the file - not released in court - portrayed Guy in a bad light.

The source told Britain's News of the World newspaper: "She became determined to paint him as a drunken, lewd sexist. She got staff to keep a record of every time he was out late or made an off-colour comment. It was bizarre as he's not a heavy drinker or abusive.

"But she was trying to show he'd be a bad influence on the kids, which is rubbish. Guy's a devoted dad and the kids adore him."

Madonna reportedly changed her mind after hearing Lourdes tell Guy how much she missed him in a phone call.

Speaking about the divorce on Thursday (20.11.08), Guy said: "I just wanted to settle it and move on. I didn't raise any objections at any stage until she insisted the children lived permanently in New York."

The couple must now wait six weeks before their decree absolute is awarded, officially ending their marriage.
