InvitationNov 20th, 2008 - 22:54:41

I would like to make an invitation to these two 'know it alls' who are writing the script to come for a visit in Utah. I would like to invite them to the LDS Humanitarian Center and take a tour and see why it is the largest welfare system serving the world outside of the US welfare. Anyone remember the last three hurricanes? Tsunami? You will see how they were able to help hundreds of thousands by 100% volunteerism.

I would then like to take them to a tour of Temple Square where they can see the Christus Statue with the planets and galaxy's painted on the walls and ceiling surrounding the statue so they can ponder the divine creations of this earth and our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Then, I would take them to the MTC (missionary training center)where they can see first hand the love and gospel spirit in which over 60,000 men and women each year dedicate 2 years without pay to go about doing good works and sharing the gospel to others.

After that, I would like to take them on a tour of my own life. A mother who abandoned her young children and a father who committed suicide while I was a teenager. After seeing my siblings spend the rest of their life in prison from poor choices, I, on the other hand, discovered the gospel of Jesus Christ through the LDS Church and have had many great experiences and much happiness in raising a family and doing much service in my communities.

Please, when you write your 'play', be sure to present both sides.

Anything that makes fun of the Church of Latter Day Bigots sounds good to me.

I love that people call Mormons bigots even though they don't really understand the official position of the church. What about that makes you in any way on a higher moral plain. Misunderstanding met with hateful (and hurtful) ad hominem attacks is how you start a playground fight not how you carry on a dialogue on a complex issue.

The guy below me is totally wrong. I live in Utah; the Mormons... yeah, it sucks. Thanks Matt! Thanks Trey!
