The word 'marriage' might be the turn off for a lot of people. Why can't gay people enter into a contract for legal and medical purposes, then have their own 'marriage' ceremony the way they see fit without making such a big deal out of the legal form of the word 'marriage'? Look at all the thousands of straight couples who live together and have for years without 'marriage' per se.

What are gays angry about? They have the exact same right to marry the opposite sex, just like everybody else. Marriage is defined between a man and a woman, the same as 'homosexuality' defines two people of the same sex. That gays don't like this reality is not society's problem.

Here is the solution; marriage as it is defined world-wide needs to be elliminated from our government system.

Create a 'civil union' between two people of any sex, that way 'marriage' can stay out of the state, and in churches where it belongs.

Separation between church and state. As it should be.
