The 'Spinning Around' singer will join 'Gavin and Stacey' stars James Corden and Mathew Horne to present the glitzy ceremony next year.
A source said: "Kylie has confirmed with bosses and they couldn't be more pleased.
"They were desperate for her to host last year but, as she was gearing up for a tour, the timing wasn't right."
The announcement comes after Kylie, 40, filmed a cameo appearance for her fellow presenters' upcoming TV comedy sketch show 'Horne and Corden'.
A source added: "The organisers think Kylie will have great chemistry with James and Mathew and will go down a storm!"
This will be the first time the prestigious ceremony has had three presenters and Kylie will become the only female host to have previously won awards for her singing.
Organisers are also reported to be in talks with comedians Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross - who recently caused controversy after leaving a crude message on 'Fawlty Towers' actor Andrew Sachs' phone during their radio show - to present one of the prizes.
The Pet Shop Boys are expected to receive a Lifetime Achievement award.
Last year's event was hosted by reality TV star family the Osbournes - Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack.
The BRIT Awards 2009 will be held at London's Earls Court on February 18.
