EPA/PAUL BUCKNotably over a puported comment that Manson allegedly was asked to perform a concert to support Barack Obama's presidential campaign, according to Marilyn's ex-girlfriend Wood.E! reports that Wood said she persuaded Manson not to perform for the President-elect, because of possible "controversy" the appearance would cause.The actress allegedly said the following comment at the Behind the Camera Awards, presented by Hamilton and Hollywood Life magazine: "I advised them not to do it, I said, 'If you show up there, it's not going to be good. It's going to bring a lot of controversy, which I know you love, but Obama doesn't need it right now'. Now that Obama's been officially elected, I might call Manson and say, 'Just go! Just go to the inauguration!'"E! reports that according to an Obama spokesperson who refuted Wood's claim, responding in an email, "That is not true."
