In a continuance of pre-marketing (and filming) his latest alter-ego before the movie hits the screens, Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno crashed a real political rally in Los Angeles on Sunday, holding placards supporting the controversial proposition 8 that denies rights to gay couples.
Bruno is a flamingly gay Austrian fashion reporter who is on the heels of Cohen's hirsute Kazakh Borat, who wears lime-green singlets.
The film, "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," put Cohen on the map worldwide.
The measure titled Proposition 8 would ban same-sex marriage in California. The British comedian in character as Bruno effusively showed his support for the measure, the Associated Press reports.
Cohen as Bruno has staged similar guerrilla appearances at fashion shows and at airports during the course of filming his latest movie.
Once photographers and reporters recognized Bruno, Cohen's own camera crew worked to shield him, and escorted him away inside a van.
