Conflicting reports are surfacing over the police call to actor Michael Madsen's home, where the actor was allegedly taken away on a 5150 hold (mental health watch).

His people are now denying the TMZ.com reports that say Madsen was detained by authorities over fears for his mental health, saying the "Kill Bill" star collapsed from exhaustion and food poisoning.
TMZ.com suggested sheriff's deputies took Madsen away after "a family member in the house became alarmed by his crazy behavior."
But the actor's publicist says the star collapsed - but is now recovering from the incident.
Liza Anderson says, "Madsen just got off a plane from overseas after a grueling work schedule. He was suffering from food poisoning and extreme exhaustion and basically collapsed. He is resting now with his family by his side."
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department claims, "We don't have any info on it," adding: "Even if we did, we don't discuss medical issues."
Involuntary psychiatric hold - aka the 5150 hold - is the same treatment "Jackass" star Steve-O and Britney Spears got after their respective breakdowns.
Steve-O was admitted on a 5150 hold at Cedars-Sinai which was extended to a 5250 14-day hold. Steve-O blogged about the ordeal:
"They call it 'code 5150,' that means "psycho," legally, f*ckin bat-sh*t, certifiably. I’m outta my mind, believe-you-me. How’d I get this way? How can this be? It’s gotten so bad there’s nothing left of me." wrote Steve-O.
