Ongoing legal wranglings hang over the head of "Womanizer" singer Britney Spears, as a Los Angeles jury was split 10-2 on Monday on whether Britney Spears was guilty of driving without a California license.
The judge sent the panel back to come to a decision. After another two hours, and still no verdict, the judge dismissed them for the night.
Deliberations are to resume Tuesday, October 21.
TMZ.com reports that a unanimous guilty vote is needed for conviction.
The charges stem from a minor auto accident last year when Spears, 26, was charged with a misdemeanor offense for not having a valid California license at the time.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Prosecution argued that Spears should have had a California license since she had married, given birth twice and divorced in California.
Spears' defense had her father testify that Britney considers Louisiana her home.

Enough with the tax payers money, fine her and end this once and for all. We treat patients who live 1/2 a year in Florida and 1/2 in MA, no one goes through all this crap. I am a tax payer and this has gone to far, there are more important things for the goverment to do with tax papers money. dismiss the case and let her pay her fine.
