I think that the time has come to hold them responsible now. It is apalling to hear them say they didn't want to vote yes on it but did anyway. Maybe I can try that with my taxes this year. I wanted to pay them but I didn't. I wrote all of my delegates and told them I did not want this. I think this is taxation without rep. Here is what I think is going on. The Republicans know that they are going to lose the race so this is nothing more than a big free for all so that the Dem's have nothing left in the coffers to carry out ambitious plans. Four years later we re-elect a Rep because of failed leadership. We could have had FREE healthcare for every American for one year with just the 700 billion. I guarantee you that others will now be in line. Welcome to the gravy train folks. Take a look at Iraq and all of the contractors over there taking advantage of us. Next will be auto, then airline, maybe a little construction bailout. We the taxpayers should have had a vote on this important issue. I have made a list and I am checking it twice. I feel so strongly about this being wrong that if either presidential candidate would have been against it I would have voted for them. Suck it up folks, the gov is gonna take us for the ride of the century now that they know they can do whatever they want.

Now you see why South America is moving to the left,America's democracy and free market system are a fraud, corrupted by greed and crooks. We have lost all credibility; starting with the fraudulent Presidential election in 2000, the President lying to the American people to start a petro-war in in Iraq, the loss of our civil liberties with the Patriot Act and now the bail out of Wall Street against the will of the people.

I am disillusioned and angry by the Democrats and Republicans who supported this bail out, but I'm ecouraged by the dissenting members of both parties who courageoulsy opposed this socialist give away.

This is the most ridiculous event in our history.........already bailing out companies that made a ton of money and now adding $100BB+ in pork!!!

Now Governor Arnold (can't spell his last name) wants us to bail Cal out!!

I'd like to see a list of who?, what? and where? the $150,000,000 of the PORK is going to have this bill passed. Who was paid off? What industries were supported? and from what states?

In the 70's we asked 'where's the beef' .. In this decade I'd like to know 'Where's the Pork?'. Seriously. Who's with me on this one? Who was paid off?

I think it's high-time they earn thier money and awesome benefits and make it illegal to add anything to a bill. A bill should pass on it's own merit and not because a special interest wish is attached. No more of the hog-wash of blind funding to these groups and no more lamb's wool over our eyes. These guys have to be embarrassed. Imagine what our fore-fathers would say to them. It's absolutely shameful. We CAN'T afford your pork anymore!

This bailout split the US like the Civil War.

It was not a party line vote. In fact, it damn near split the GOP.

It was a vote showing the new line of division in this country...whether you support a corporate-government takeover of our country or not.

Like the Civil War, this bill pitted brother against brother:

Senator Salazar (D-CO) voted for the bailout ripoff.

His brother, Representative Salazar (D-CO), voted against.

Obviously Congressman Salazar is the smarter brother and Senator Salazar was dropped on his head when he was a baby. I hope the Congressman beats the living crap out of the Senator the next time they meet.

The United States of America, as we know it, DIED yesterday.

Rest in Peace.

I think it is time for that revolt. It's obvious that our elected officials for the most part are thumbing their noses at we the people. I know who I'm not voting for too.

Everyone seems to think the worst of my state -- for a variety of reasons, some are legitimate while others aren't. In spite of a lot of things being wrong here, at least our senators voted against this bill. I'm proud of them for that -- and how often do you get to say that about a politician?

I'm from SC. Glad to see that Demint voted against it, but Lindsey Graham needs to get his head out of McCain's rear end and stand up for the conservatives he represents.

I guess we'll have to clean house next election. If these elected officials don't yet get the idea. You don't give tax payer money away without it costing the politician his job!
America, we need to rotate these political fools out of office every election, until we start to see a change in behavior from Washington.
