Ben Stiller's 'dark' move
Sep 28, 2008, 11:00 GMT
Ben Stiller wants to make a move into "darkness".
The comic actor - who shot to fame after starring in movies including 'Zoolander' and 'Meet the Parents' - is now keen to experiment with more serious projects.
He said: "Darkness is the direction I want to go in right now - both as an actor and as a director. I will always go back to comedy because it's part of what I like to do.
"But there's this whole other side of me that I'm drawn to and that I just haven't been able to do. I have to get the balance right. It's really hard."
Last week, the actor's 'Tropic Thunder' co-star Robert Downey Jr. joked he was planning to help Ben win an Oscar by directing him in a movie about twins.
He said: "There is a story about some famous conjoined twins - I don't remember their names - and I'm going to direct Ben in that film. Ben will play both twins. It's going to be kind of like 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', except with two buttons.
"I am determined to help him win two Oscars for playing the same part."
