Noel Gallagher thought he had been stabbed after being attacked on stage.
The Oasis rocker - who is currently nursing broken ribs after being pushed over by a stage invader at Canada's V Festival earlier this month - admits he initially thought the incident was far more serious.
He said: "Because it had been raining and there were puddles around I thought I'd been stabbed. For a split second I s**t it."
The guitarist's brother, Oasis singer Liam, also believed his brother had been more severely injured - and vowed a repeat incident will never be allowed to happen.
He said: "I thought Noel had been stabbed. It was f***ing dark, but it could have been a lot worse, that's the way I look at it. The guy's going to get dealt with.
"It won't be happening again - I can assure you of that."
Noel also said he was worried his attacker, 47-year-old Daniel Sullivan - who has been charged over the incident - would be come famous because of his actions.
He added: "Loads of Oasis fans put his name on the website and did wanted posters which just adds to the infamy."
