Travis Barker's musician peers are speaking to the press about the tragic Friday night accident that claimed four lives and put Barker and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) in the ICU burn unit of a hospital.

Gavin DeGraw, who shared the stage with Travis Barker and DJ AM just minutes before they boarded the doomed lear jet flight, is still trying to make sense of the tragic turn of events on Friday night.
DeGraw told Extra, “The people that you travel with when you’re doing this for a living, they become your family.”
“I was shaking somebody’s hand who was about to die… That could just as easily been our reality too and I feel terrible that those guys had to go through that... You have no idea what your own fate of their fate is going to be.”
DeGraw revealed that many of his friends and family, even his parents, thought that he was on board the flight.
He said, “I got so many calls from people who were checking to see if I was okay… My dad got on the phone and he goes, ‘Just say hi’ and I said, ‘Huh’ and he said , ‘That’s enough. I just wanted to hear your voice.’”
DeGraw admitted this is one of the most traumatic things he’s ever been associated with saying, “This is a pretty bad one. Just being this close is already kind of too close.”
Good friend and fellow spin jock, DJ Hollywood, also spoke to “Extra” about finding out his friend, DJ AM, was still alive.
He said, “It was a sigh of relief. That would be a devastating loss to the music business…it would have been an unbelievable loss.” As for how DJ AM is doing, he revealed, “A lot of people flew in…the prognosis is better than what the media outlook is right now.”
At last night’s Emmys, DJ AM’s close friend, Joey Fatone, reacts, “We’re waiting to find out exactly what’s going on.” Tom Arnold, Barker’s old friend comments, “His mom said he’s going to be fine.”
